MAP addon install guide

Hey guys,

I'll try to write a small howto to install the map addons for the in game tool.

1) Download the maps from http://maps.eq2interface.com/

2) Unless you already got a custom UI you will have to create a directory
in your EverQuest2\UI folder, name it anything you like. Unzip the file you just downloaded in to your new folder, for example UI\maps.

If you already have a custom UI simply unzip the file into your current UI directory.

3) To make eq2 load this new UI modification you also need to create a file named eq2.ini in your EverQuest2 folder. Add these two lines to it:
cl_ui_skinname maps
cl_ui_subdir UI/

Of course you can change maps in cl_ui_skinname to whatever you named your folder.

That is it, just start EQ and open the map as you normally do and you will see a lot of changes, there will be map for many dungeons now as well.

*OPTIONAL updater* There is an automatic map update tool available from the creator of the map addon. Download it from http://maps.eq2interface.com/POI_files/ ... pdater.zip

Unzip into your UI\<folder>, then run it and hit the button update, it will update all your out of date maps after that it will automaticly launch EQ2.

I have a crappy bug going atm, that I want to fix before I do anything about my UI. In case I need to reinstall or repatch the UI files.
Basicly I crash every time I try to access character select. So unless I select the character I want to play in the patcher, I can't play at all. Doesn't effect me that much unless I need to switch between 2 characters and have to start the game all over though. But still want to get it fixed before doing something else I can potentially screw up (you know me).
